Welcome to CUPE Local 3166!
In CUPE the members are in charge. Each CUPE Local decides its priorities for:
- Contract settlement, and
- Fund management
CUPE’s capability comes from individual members working toward common goals. Together, we maintain and improve member wages and benefits, improve health and safety conditions, and make your workplace better.
There are over 628,000 CUPE members in Canada & 55,000 Education Support Workers in Ontario, and that number is growing. Most of our members work in the public service. Our brothers and sisters work in Municipalities, Education, Health Care, Social Services, Airlines, Communications, and more.
In every Province, workers have the right to join a Union and choose a Union to represent them when dealing with their employer.
All CUPE members work under the protection of a contract called a Collective Agreement. Your Local Union 3166 bargains the terms of the agreement and your elected Local Union Leaders work with the employer to resolve problems in the workplace.
If you have questions about your Rights at work, the best person to talk to is your Local Executive who has in-depth knowledge of your Collective Agreement and problem solving.
